This is a shoujo one shot about a girl who is obsessed with this late night DJ, not knowing that the DJ is actually a guy from school that he hates This is cute but nothing special However, the art style is gorgeous as usual Ryouko has fallen in love with the radio DJ Choco Upon sending him a cake for Christmas she finds herself as a substitute in the radio show Will she be able to get closer to Choco But then there is also her annoying school mate, KeikiIncludes short story Wink Rain Die Ideen dahinter sind ganz s f r die Weihnachtszeit Aber ich habe dauerhaft die Charaktere vertauscht, dem Faden nicht folgen k nnen, etc Der Zeichenstil gef llt mir aber sehr gut wie auch schon bei Sailor Moon Deswegen leider nur zwei Sterne von mir. Cute, interesting. Chocolate Christmas was my first Naoko Takeuchi read It consists of two short stories which are both cute and corny But hey it is a Christmas themed romance story it is supposed to be corny This volume certainly gets a bonus as both stories have themes I like the first having a Christmas theme and the second a rain theme.Unfortunately, I had difficulties understanding the stories But I think that isthe editions fault rather than the stories The pages are mirrored so it can be read Chocolate Christmas was my first Naoko Takeuchi read It consists of two short stories which are both cute and corny But hey it is a Christmas themed romance story it is supposed to be corny This volume certainly gets a bonus as both stories have themes I like the first having a Christmas theme and the second a rain theme.Unfortunately, I had difficulties understanding the stories But I think that isthe editions fault rather than the stories The pages are mirrored so it can be read from left to right and that does not always work out well with the panels Because of that, it was sometimes confusing who was saying what and to whom and in what freaking order it s supposed to be read But on to the actual stories Chocolate Christmas was as mentioned before corny It did not bother me, though The characters and art were both cute and it was fun to watch the main characters argue with each other My only issue with this story was that there were several side characters which looked very similar to the male lead who has a variety of different names it took a while to figure out that all these names belonged to the same person Keike and Cake being the most confusing part as it was never really explained where all the Cake business suddenly came from. The second rain themed story Wink Rain was much easier to follow and feltdown to earth than Chocolate Christmas I think it is a pretty realistic story about three childhood friends and I quite liked both male lead characters All in all, they are cute reads for in between or perhaps for Christmas time I am growingandfond of older manga styles so this one suited me just fine It had some very lovely panels I read this via MangaFox I recently read this today and while it was pretty, it just wasn t the best I ve seen out of Takeuchi The story is simple and sweet, the artwork is cute, but overall it just felt sort of bland I wonder if it might be a result of the story being several chapters long without anything truly major happening I really feel that ifhad gone on in the series or if everything had been condensed into one chapter, it probably would have been far better story wise There w I read this via MangaFox I recently read this today and while it was pretty, it just wasn t the best I ve seen out of Takeuchi The story is simple and sweet, the artwork is cute, but overall it just felt sort of bland I wonder if it might be a result of the story being several chapters long without anything truly major happening I really feel that ifhad gone on in the series or if everything had been condensed into one chapter, it probably would have been far better story wise There was a bonus story in the version I read called Miss Rain one of many stories by Takeuchi with the same title and while it was cute, it just felt like it suffered from the same reasons it was just too drawn out for the story it contained. But for free, it s not bad It s just not something that I would really want to purchase, is all If you get this manga, never give it away again It contains the two romantic stories Chocolate Christmas and Winky rain by Naoko Takeuchi, originally published in the Japanese Nakagayoshi magazine in 1988.
