Librarian s Note the ISBN for this book was reused on a completely different book ISBNDeep in the bayou, a strange and beautiful world of merfolk exists Mermaid Jet Borsage never fit in with her own kind Her dark hair and eyes set her apart from the other merfolk Which was why she fell for the wrong man, and why she is still paying the price One that has made her unwilling to trust any man Until she meets Landry Fields Agent Landry Fields is investigating Jet s former boyfriend, but he knows Jet is hiding something, as well At first he believed the beauty was involved in her ex boyfriend s dangerous undersea excavations But when he realizes he is falling for a real live mermaid, Landry s by the book beliefs are rocked Now can he save Jet and her clan from modern day pirates to claim a future with the feisty beauty Another win for me by Debbie Herbert I enjoyed this bookthan the first one, although both are excellent My favorite part of this novel was getting to know Jet, the steely, hardcore mermaid of the Borsage family I think the reason I enjoyed getting to know her was because I didn t like her in the first book While I certainly didn t hate her, she just seemed rude for no reason in Siren s Secret A bitter mermaid with a chip on her shoulder.Well, she is all that, but for good reason Turn Another win for me by Debbie Herbert I enjoyed this bookthan the first one, didn t like her in the first book While I certainly didn t hate her, she just seemed rude for no reason in Siren s Secret A bitter mermaid with a chip on her shoulder.Well, she is all that, but for good reason Turns out, Jet has a soft spot under all that hard exterior Someone once told me that there is no such thing as a bitch, just someone masking hurt Well, Herbert reminded me of this with her brilliant characterization I didn t see her background coming I knew that it wouldn t be pretty, but it was hard to read Not because of the writing quality, obviously, but because it sucked I admire Jet evenfor having made it through all that and still having the courage to open her heart up She is officially my favorite mermaid ever We ll see what happens after I learnabout Lily She s going to have to be all kinds of awesome to overtake Jet though.Speaking of hearts, let s talk about Perry Hammonds Eww And also, bastard Ooo, I hated him with my whole self I just wanted a shark to eat him He was such an arrogant prick who thought Jet owed him something I can t believe how cruel he manged to be in the end, using Jet s biggest fears against her Not cool, dude Not cool.On the upside Landry I liked him right away, which almost never happens to me with characters I need to feel them out, get to know them a bit Even though he came off as uptight okay, he is pretty uptight, but not so much as he seems in the beginning, I was just drawn to him You could tell he was good as soon as he appeared on the scene, and I knew, after finding out he was Jet s love interest, that he would be cool with her being a mermaid The scene where he found out was my favorite in this series so far.I m glad Herbert didn t go down the same road she did in the first novel By that, I mean Jet and Landry s journey toward love and trust was totally different from Tillman and Shelly s I m always nervous when I read the second novel in any series, so I m glad this didn t disappoint The author keeps everything fresh and the surprises rolling She is a master of characterization and creating spell binding romance. This series is a most read for any paranormal romance fans Book gifted by author something he wants to forget Will Landry save Jet from danger or will Jet be the one to save Landry When I was approached to read this story of mermaids I was not really sure what to expect, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the book on every level Wonderful characters that draw you in and keep you interested in what is going on in their lives I found that I could easily relate to Jet, she is different, but it is her differences that make her special, she struggles at times to see that she is special in her own way That in itself makes her very likable. There were a couple of interesting subplots woven through the main theme of the story that kept the pace of the book moving extremely well It helps the reader understand the characters on a deeper level I think the character that benefits the most from the sub plots is Landry When the story evolves, he becomesthan just an F.B.I agent, you really get to understand his struggles as a young child and the heartache that made him the man he is today Having not read many books in the Harlequin range I was not really familiar with the way that they are written For me there was the exact amount of romance and sex scenes throughout, to whet the appetite of the reader.I loved the mermaid aspect, being a fan of the paranormal genre, I really enjoyed Jet s story For me, it was a bit of a change as I have not read a paranormal story where a mermaid is the main character before, so that was a quite refreshing change for me Siren s Treasure is the second book Dark Seas Series I have not read the first book, but there was enough information throughout to give me an idea of what took place Highly recommended for fans of both romance and paranormal genres Enjoyed eventhan the first Jet Borsage isof a wild child than her cousin Shelly, who we met in book one, Siren s Secret The sins of her past have come back to haunt her FBI agent Landry Fields past has come back to haunt him in an entirely different, and farliteral, manner. This story brings together two very different personalities that you aren t sure can find a way to connect Nothing a little magic and mayhem can t cure I loved the little wildlife I found to be inspired writing, things that beautifully anchored you into this mermaid inhabited bayou town Tia, the local voodoo queen supernatural guru, makes another spunky appearance, as do the sisters Shelly and Lily Lily comes across a little hard to like, and I look forward to seeing how her character will grow and grow up in the 3rd novel As a sequel, there is always the fear that the
